- Good to know
- Our toes need 6-9 millimetre space at each step to feel comfortable in a shoe. This area is called push space. The correct shoe size is calculated on the basis of the length of the foot, the push space and the so-called growth space, which is up to 6 mm. Combined this is an addition of 12-15 mm. Therefore a shoe, which has been manufactured in accordance with WMS does not require to be bought for growing into!
- Children’s feet should be measured with the WMS foot measuring device all 8 to 12 weeks – both in respect of length and width.
- Rule of the thumb for the growth of children's feet: during the 2nd and 3rd year feet grow annually by ca. 2 to 3 sizes, at kindergarten age by ca. 2 sizes and at school age by 1 to 2 sizes.
- WMS has been a seal of quality for child-oriented shoes 1974.
- The letters W, M and S stand for the following widths: W = wide, M = medium and S = slim (narrow).
- The WMS foot measuring device is available in many good specialist shops. Use the opportunity to measure the feet of your children in regular intervals.
